Ozankoy village has a friendly feel, so shopping here is really good fun. You can stock up on food for your North Cyprus villa or apartment at the village shop, and try to resist nibbling their fresh-baked bread on the drive home! The local butcher sells great meat for barbecues, and on Sundays during the summer, there is a tabletop market, perfect for picking up unusual souvenirs.

Just above Ozankoy is the village of Bellapais, with its famous ruined Augustinian Abbey. There is an old Crusader footpath that winds up the mountainside to Bellapais, but you'll probably prefer to drive your North Cyprus car hire to Bellapais instead - it's quite a walk! At Bellapais, there are several excellent restaurants, and the views from the mountain down to the coast below are well worth experiencing by day and by night. The Abbey also hosts the annual Bellapais Music festival in its Refectory Hall, a wonderful setting for beautiful music.

Ozankoy is set back from the coast just as the land rises towards the mountains, so you'll need a hire car in Ozankoy to drive to the beach - but what beaches should you choose? Just 7 minutes drive away is probably the beast private beach in North Cyprus, Acapulco Beach, complete with every facility you can think of, including a kids' aqua park, sun loungers, beach bar, restaurant, you name it! Next to Acapulco Beach is Vogue Beach Club, a smaller, quieter beach and a café serving some of the best ice creams in North Cyprus.

Restaurants near Ozankoy, North Cyprus - Car Hire Recommended
Ozankoy has several good restaurants, including the Five Finger Restaurant with good views of Bellapais from its terrace. For fine dining, try the Patini, and for probably the best Chinese food in North Cyprus, go to The Chinese Garden restaurant. Since Kyrenia town is only 10 minutes' drive away, it's also perfectly possible to enjoy a lovely fish dinner at a harbourside restaurant in Kyrenia, and be back in Ozankoy in time for a nightcap on your North Cyprus hotel bar or villa roof terrace.
